AD/PA-31/22 - Alternator Switch and Circuit Breaker Panel Wiring - Inspection - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous aircraft safety rule that required owners of Piper PA-31 aeroplanes to inspect their alternator switch and circuit breaker panel wiring.

What it means:

• Previously, operators had to perform a one-time inspection of the alternator switch and wiring within 100 hours of flight time after April 1973, following the manufacturer's service letter.
• This requirement is now cancelled as of 31 July 2008.

Who is affected: Owners and operators of Piper PA-31 series aircraft (commonly known as Navajo or Chieftain models).

Why it matters: The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) cancelled this directive because all affected aircraft have already completed the required inspection. The rule served its purpose and is no longer needed, reducing regulatory burden on aircraft operators.
