AD/PA-31/112 - Crossover Fuel Line - CANCELLED

What this document does: This officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-31/112) that required owners of Piper PA-31 aircraft to inspect and modify a specific fuel pipe.

Background: The original rule required a one-time inspection of the "crossover fuel line" (a fuel pipe connecting different parts of the aircraft) according to manufacturer guidelines (Piper Service Bulletin 825), followed by a mandatory modification within 25 hours of flight time after May 1986.

Why it matters: Because all affected aircraft have now been inspected and modified, the safety requirement is no longer necessary. This cancellation removes the compliance obligation for aircraft operators, taking effect on 31 July 2008.
