AD/PA-31/107 - Fuel Quantity Placards - CANCELLED

What this is: This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-31/107) that applied to Piper PA-31 aircraft.

What the old rule required: The original directive required aircraft owners to replace fuel quantity placards (the labels showing fuel levels) on these specific aeroplanes. The work had to be done within 100 hours of flying time after August 1984, following specifications in a Piper Service Bulletin No. 776.

Why it is being cancelled: As of 31 July 2008, this safety requirement is no longer needed because all affected aircraft have already been modified. The cancellation removes the obligation since compliance is now universal.
