AD/PA-31/10 - Stall Strip - Inspection - CANCELLED

This document cancels an outdated aircraft safety rule that is no longer needed.

What the old rule required Originally, Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-31/10 (issued in 1970) required owners of Piper PA-31 series aircraft to perform a one-time inspection of the stall strips — small metal pieces on the wing's leading edge that help control airflow and prevent dangerous stalls. The inspection had to be completed within 100 flight hours after February 1970.

What this document does Because the compliance deadline passed nearly 40 years ago, all affected aircraft would have already completed the inspection. This instrument formally cancels the old directive effective 31 July 2008, simply removing the obsolete requirement from the books.

Who it affects Owners and operators of Piper PA-31 series aircraft, though no action is required since the original inspection deadline passed decades earlier.
