Who it affects: Anyone operating Piper PA-30 or PA-39 model aircraft with serial numbers 30-1 through 30-2000, or 39-1 through 39-156.

What must be done: Operators must follow the inspection procedures in Piper Service Letter No. 650 (and its Addendum 1) to check the landing gear and flap assemblies.

When: The inspection must be completed within 100 hours of flight time after 31 December 1973.

Why it matters: This ensures these specific twin-engine aircraft remain safe to fly by identifying potential mechanical issues in critical flight control and landing systems.
