AD/PA-30/14 - Front Seat Restraint Installations - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels a 1971 aviation safety rule that required owners of Piper PA-30 and PA-39 Twin Comanche aircraft to install upper torso restraints (shoulder harnesses) in the front seats.

What it does:

• Cancels the previous directive (AD/PA-30/14) effective 17 January 2008
• Removes the specific requirement for these aircraft to have shoulder harnesses installed

Why it matters: The old rule only applied to these specific Piper models certified before 1967. It has been replaced by a broader, updated safety directive (AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1) that applies to all aircraft types. If you own one of these planes, you no longer follow this specific rule, but must comply with the new general seat restraint requirements instead.
