Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This CASA Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of Piper PA‑30 and PA‑39 Twin Comanche aircraft fitted with a voltage regulator selector switch to immediately install 3‑amp fuses in the PFIA and PFIIA alternator field cables, perform a functional alternator check, and ensure voltage regulators are adjusted per the manufacturer’s manual. The fuses prevent alternator field faults that could cause equipment failure, fire, or power loss; they need not be pilot‑accessible.
