This AD cancels a 1963 Australian requirement that owners of Piper PA‑30 and PA‑39 (Twin Comanche) aircraft install a physical stop on the fuel valve control per Piper Service Letter No. 408.

From 18 December 2008, Australian-registered owners and operators of these types no longer must fit that modification — removing an old, Australia‑specific maintenance obligation and saving owners time and expense while other safety rules remain in force.
