AD/PA-28/88 Amdt 3 - Aft Centre of Gravity Restriction - CANCELLED

This document formally cancels a former aviation safety rule that applied to Piper PA-28 aircraft (light single-engine planes commonly used for flight training and private aviation).

The original rule required owners to perform a once-only modification to the aircraft's wings to fix a centre of gravity problem (a weight balance issue that could affect flight safety). This modification had to be completed by September 1991.

Why it matters now:

• This amendment cancels the rule entirely as of 3 July 2008
• Since all affected aircraft were modified decades ago, the safety requirement is no longer necessary
• Aircraft owners and operators no longer have any obligations under this directive
