AD/PA-28/85 - Battery Strap Installation - CANCELLED

What this is: This officially cancels an aviation safety rule that previously required owners of Piper PA-28 aircraft (light planes) to modify how the battery was secured.

What the original rule did: The 1985 directive required a one-time fix to the battery strap installation following manufacturer guidelines (Piper Service Bulletin 804). Owners had to complete this within 100 hours of flying time after July 1985.

Why it's cancelled: The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) cancelled this rule on 3 July 2008 because all affected aircraft had already been modified. Once every plane has complied, the safety rule is no longer needed.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-28 series aeroplanes. Since the rule is cancelled, no action is required.
