Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This airworthiness directive (a mandatory safety order issued by the aviation regulator) requires the replacement of fuel valves on specific Piper Cherokee aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-28-235 aircraft with serial numbers between 28-7410094 and 28-7510016.

What you must do: Replace the fuel valve within 100 hours of flight time after 31 March 1975, following the technical instructions in Piper Service Bulletin No. 444.

Why it matters: This prevents potential fuel system failures—such as leaks or fuel starvation—that could cause engine stoppage or fire during flight.
