Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This mandatory Airworthiness Directive orders owners/operators of certain Piper PA‑28 aircraft with factory‑installed air conditioning to modify the A/C system per Piper Service Bulletin No. 427. It applies only to specific serial-numbered PA‑28-140/180/PA‑28R‑200 airframes (see directive for the exact serials) and must be completed within 100 hours time‑in‑service after 31 October 1974.

Complying is legally required for airworthiness; flying without the modification violates aviation law and is unsafe.
