Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive requires a one‑time safety inspection of certain Piper Cherokee PA‑28‑235 (ser. nos. 28‑7410001–28‑7410090) to find a manufacturing defect in outer wing spar lightening holes that could cause structural failure. Owners must access the inspection plate at the aileron bellcrank, check for a die‑stamp location and any cracks; if forward stamping or cracks are found the spar must be replaced or repaired under approved procedures.

Compliance: within 10 flight hours after 17 Sept 1974.
