AD/PA-28/47 - Automatic Pilot Roll Servo Shear Pin - Installation - CANCELLED

This instrument cancels a previous safety rule for Piper PA-28 aircraft owners.

What it does:

• Removes a maintenance obligation: Previously, owners had to modify their autopilot's roll servo shear pin within 200 hours of flying time, following specific manufacturer service letters (Piper SL No. 695 or Edo-Aire Mitchell SL ML38).
• Why now?: The safety risk that originally required this fix no longer exists, so the mandatory upgrade is unnecessary.

Who it affects:

• Owners and operators of Piper PA-28 series aeroplanes who were previously subject to Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-28/47.

When it happened:

• The cancellation took effect on 5 June 2008.
