AD/PA-28/36 - Stabilator Hinge Attaching Bolts - Inspection - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule that required owners of Piper PA-28 aircraft to inspect specific bolts on the tail section.

What it used to require: The original rule (from 1972) required a one-time inspection of the bolts attaching the stabilator hinge—the moving part on the tail that controls the plane's up and down movement (also called the elevator).

Why it's cancelled: Because the inspection was mandatory back in 1972, all affected aircraft would have completed it decades ago. The rule is therefore obsolete and no longer needs to be enforced.

Who is affected: Owners and operators of Piper PA-28 series aircraft no longer need to comply with this specific inspection requirement.
