What this document does

This is a cancellation notice for an old aircraft safety rule. It removes a maintenance requirement that previously applied to owners of Piper PA-25 Pawnee aircraft (agricultural planes often used for crop-dusting).

What the old rule required The original directive (from 1975) required owners to install a safety cable connecting the main landing gear (undercarriage) to the fuselage frame within 100 hours of flight time. This was a uniquely Australian requirement, not based on manufacturer guidelines.

What changed As of 20 November 2008, this requirement is officially cancelled. Owners of these aircraft no longer need to install this specific cable to comply with this rule.
