Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

A mandatory airworthiness directive requires owners/operators of Piper PA‑25‑235 and PA‑25‑260 aeroplanes (serials before 25‑7405573) to inspect and reinforce the wing forward spars. Operators must perform recurring inspections until a Piper reinforcement kit (Kit No. 760840, per the manufacturer’s service guidance) is installed, and then continue periodic inspections of the reinforced areas.

The rule addresses spar cracking that could lead to wing separation, imposing inspection and modification to maintain structural safety.
