AD/PA-25/29 - Wing Strut - Inspection - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule that required owners of Piper PA-25 Pawnee aircraft to regularly inspect the wing struts (the structural supports connecting the wings to the body of the plane) for cracks.

What it does:

• Cancels Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-25/29 effective 20 November 2008
• Removes the mandatory inspection that previously required checking wing lift struts for cracking every 500 hours of flight time

Why it matters: The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) determined that legally mandating this specific inspection was no longer warranted. While operators may still choose to inspect struts as part of good maintenance practice, it is no longer a legal requirement under this directive.

Who is affected: Owners and operators of Piper PA-25 Pawnee series aircraft, which are primarily used for agricultural spraying and towing gliders.
