AD/PA-25/28 - Inertia Reel Installation - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an old aircraft safety rule that applied to Piper PA-25 Pawnee aeroplanes (agricultural aircraft commonly used for crop dusting).

What the original rule required: Back in the 1960s, this Airworthiness Directive (AD) — a type of safety law for aircraft — required owners to upgrade the pilot's seatbelt system by installing a multi-directional inertia reel (a seatbelt that locks automatically during sudden movements or crashes). Compliance was originally required before February 1969.

What this document does: It officially cancels that old requirement effective 20 November 2008.

Why it matters: The safety modification is no longer considered necessary, so this removes an obsolete compliance burden from aircraft owners and operators. If you operate a Piper PA-25 Pawnee, you no longer need to meet this specific seatbelt requirement.
