AD/PA-25/24 - Elevator Control Cable Rear Turnbuckles - Inspection - CANCELLED

What this is: This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-25/24) that required owners of specific Piper PA-25 Pawnee agricultural aircraft to inspect the rear turnbuckles on their elevator control cables.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-25 (Pawnee) series aeroplanes manufactured before September 1971.

What it does: It removes the legal obligation to conduct these specific safety inspections. The original rule was unique to Australia and mandated checking the rear turnbuckle (a metal device used to adjust cable tension) on the elevator control cables. As of 20 November 2008, this inspection requirement no longer applies.
