AD/PA-23/78 Amdt 1 - Hose Assembly - Inspection and Replacement - CANCELLED

What this does: This document officially cancels a previous safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) that required owners of Piper Apache and Aztec aircraft to inspect and replace hose assemblies on the main landing gear.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-23 series aircraft. However, this cancellation matters mostly as a paperwork exercise—everyone who needed to comply has already done so.

Why it matters: The original rule was a one-time safety check required back in 1978. Because all affected aircraft have now been modified, the authority is formally removing the requirement to reduce unnecessary regulatory burden. The cancellation takes effect on 12 February 2009.
