Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety inspection rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for specific Piper aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-23-250 Aztec "F" model aircraft with specific serial numbers (listed in the document—including ranges like 27-7754145 to 27-7754152 and others).

What it requires: You must inspect the stabilator trim control rod to tab attachment (a connection in the tail section that helps control the aircraft's pitch) following the procedures in Piper Service Bulletin No. 590.

When: Complete the inspection within 100 hours of flight time after 30 April 1978.

Why it matters: This prevents potential failure of the trim control mechanism, which could affect the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's altitude safely.
