AD/PA-23/69 - Stabilator Tab - Modification - CANCELLED

What this is: A cancellation notice for a previous aviation safety rule.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-23 Apache and Aztec aircraft.

What it does: This document cancels an earlier Airworthiness Directive (AD/PA-23/69) that required a specific modification to the stabilator tab (a movable control surface on the aircraft's tail that helps control pitch). The original rule required this modification to be completed within 100 hours of flying time after November 1976, following Piper Service Bulletin No. 514.

Why it matters: As of 12 February 2009, aircraft owners and operators are no longer legally required to comply with this specific modification. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has determined the safety requirement is no longer necessary.
