Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires owners/operators of Piper PA-23 Apache and Aztec aircraft with 3080C Cleveland wheel/brake assemblies to inspect brake disc part 164-32 for weld defects and replace cracked discs to prevent brake failure. Defective discs must be replaced with the improved one-piece 164-32F; 164-32 may be used only if manufactured after 23 May 1969.

Inspections are mandated every 100 flight hours until replacement, and replacement is required at the next overhaul or disc change to ensure landing and taxi safety.
