Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD requires owners/operators of certain Piper PA‑22/PA‑22‑135 aeroplanes (with specified serial‑number exclusions) to have the landing gear reinforced immediately, by following either Piper Service Letter No. 124 or FAA AD 55‑7‑2. Compliance is compulsory and at the operator’s expense.

The directive narrows coverage by serial number (creating some interpretive risk over “22‑2394 and above”) and leaves the technical choice to the two referenced documents.
