This Airworthiness Directive (AD/PA‑20/8) requires owners/operators of all Piper PA‑20 (Pacer) aeroplanes to inspect the tail brace streamline tie rods at intervals not exceeding 120 hours TIS, using the procedures in Piper Service Bulletin No.183 or FAA AD 60‑1‑7. It creates a recurring maintenance obligation—operators must obtain the referenced documents, carry out inspections and any repairs, incurring ongoing costs and potential impacts on scheduling and aircraft availability.
