Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Owners of Piper PA-20 Pacers must fit a "No Step" label to the starboard wing strut within 50 flight hours after 30 Sept 1986 and replace lift strut forks before they reach 1,000 flight hours to prevent strut failure and wing collapse.

If you install sealed lift struts per Piper SB 528D you are exempt from the 1,000‑hour fork retirement and must instead comply with AD/PA-20/17. This replaces prior 500‑hour magnetic‑particle inspections with a fixed life limit.
