AD/PA-20/13 - Wing Fuel Tank Cap - Modification - CANCELLED

What this does: This document officially cancels a previous aircraft safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-20/13) that required owners of Piper PA-20 Pacer aeroplanes to modify their wing fuel tank caps.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-20 Pacer aircraft. However, since this is a cancellation, it removes a previous obligation rather than imposing a new one.

Why it matters: The original safety directive was issued in 1978 to fix a specific unsafe condition with fuel tank caps. By 2008, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority determined this safety risk no longer exists—likely because affected aircraft have either been modified or retired from service. This cancellation removes the legal requirement to perform this specific modification, simplifying maintenance obligations for any remaining aircraft of this type.

Effective date: The cancellation took effect on 5 June 2008.
