AD/PA-18/7 - Front Seat Restraint Installations - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an old aviation safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) for Piper Super Cub aircraft.

What the old rule required: Originally issued in 1971, it forced owners to install shoulder harnesses (upper torso restraints) in the front seats of Piper PA-18 and PA-19 aircraft certified before 1967.

What this document does: It cancels that old rule effective 17 January 2008.

Why it matters: If you own one of these vintage aircraft, you no longer need to follow this specific directive. However, you must now comply with a replacement rule (AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1) that covers the same safety requirement across multiple aircraft types. The shoulder harnesses themselves still need to be there; only the specific paperwork reference has changed.
