AD/PA-18/14 - Rear Fuselage Tail Plane Support Tubes - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule for Piper PA-18 and PA-19 Super Cub aircraft. The original rule required a one-time inspection of the metal tubes in the rear fuselage that support the tail plane (the horizontal stabiliser—the wing at the back of the aircraft). Owners had to complete this inspection by April 1995 or after 5,000 hours of flight time, whichever came later. This cancellation means aircraft owners and maintenance engineers no longer need to perform this specific inspection. The original safety rule was created specifically by Australian authorities and was not based on manufacturer guidelines or American aviation directives.
