Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires operators of C.A.C. CA-18 (Mustang) aeroplanes used in aerial work or charter to have the main landing‑gear pivot shaft (specified part numbers) inspected for cracking using an approved magnetic‑particle method.

It matters because it forces recurring inspections and related costs/downtime on affected operators, channels technical approval to the regulator or authorised examiners, and aims to detect cracks that could lead to landing‑gear failure.
