Owners/operators of Mitsubishi MU-2 aircraft fitted with Bendix M4C or M4D autopilots must, within 100 hours’ time-in-service after 6 March 1992, have the aircraft modified or serviced in accordance with MHI MU-2 Service Bulletin 076/22-008 (JCAB TCD-3464-91 also referenced). The mandatory action—at the operator’s cost—is intended to prevent unintended autopilot engagement by making the manufacturer’s remedy an airworthiness requirement.

Applicability: All Models MU-2 fitted with Bendix M4C or M4D autopilots. Requirement: Action in accordance with MHI MU-2 Service Bulletin 076/22-008.

Note: JCAB TCD-3464-91 also refers.

Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 6 March 1992. Background: To preclude the unintentional engagement of the autopilot.
