Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

A mandatory safety order requires owners/operators of certain Mitsubishi MU-2B-40 and MU-2B-60 aircraft (specific serial numbers) to modify rudder and elevator trim idler hardware per Mitsubishi service bulletins SB022/22-002 or SB026/22-003 Rev B. The change prevents idler-related trim chain binding that can disable trim, yaw damper, and autopilot, creating a loss-of-control risk. Compliance was required by the stated 1984 flight-hour/inspection deadlines.
