AD/MU-2/2 - Windows - Cabin and Cockpit - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an old aircraft safety rule that is no longer needed.

What it was: Back in 1970, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority required owners of Mitsubishi MU-2 aeroplanes to modify the cabin and cockpit windows before each aircraft reached 1,800 hours of flying time. The change (specified in Mitsubishi Service Bulletin No. 102) was designed to extend window life and make flights quieter and more comfortable.

Why it's cancelled: Nearly 40 years later, every affected aircraft that is still flying has already made these modifications. Because compliance is now universal, the rule is redundant.

What happens now: Aircraft owners and operators no longer need to track or prove compliance with this specific requirement. The cancellation takes effect on 2 July 2009.
