Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document scraps a previous aviation safety rule about engine mounts on Aerospatiale Rallye aircraft.

What it does:

Cancels Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/MSR/29 effective 27 August 2009
Removes the legal requirement for owners to inspect engine mounts at every maintenance release (the periodic certificate proving your aircraft is safe to fly)

Who it affects:

Owners and operators of Aerospatiale Rallye series aeroplanes

Why it matters: Previously, you had to inspect the engine mount using Service Bulletin No. 146 (a manufacturer's technical notice) every time you renewed your maintenance release. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has decided this specific inspection no longer needs to be legally mandated by an Airworthiness Directive. While you should still follow the aircraft manufacturer's recommendations, this particular check is no longer enforced by this specific safety rule.
