Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Owners/operators of certain Maule M‑5 series aeroplanes must inspect and, if needed, modify the fuselage tube that secures the front horizontal‑tail attach point using Maule Aircraft Corp. Service Bulletin No. 1, within 100 hours TIS after 31 Oct 1979 (unless already done).

This addresses a potential crack in a primary tail‑support tube, affects owners and maintenance providers, and imposes inspection/modification costs and downtime borne by the aircraft owner.
