AD/ML-M4/3 - Elevator Trim Control - Modification - CANCELLED

What this is: This document officially cancels a decades-old aviation safety rule that required owners of Maule M-4 series aeroplanes to replace their elevator trim control assembly (the device that helps adjust the plane's pitch).

What it did: The original rule — called an Airworthiness Directive (AD), which is a mandatory safety order from the aviation regulator — was issued in 1967. It required aircraft owners to follow "Maule Service Letter No. 9" to fix a potential safety issue with the trim controls.

Why it matters: This cancellation recognises that the safety work was completed long ago. By 2009, every affected aircraft had already been modified, so the mandatory requirement was no longer needed. The directive is now effectively dead law.
