AD/ML-M4/11 - Engine Mount - Inspection and Modification - CANCELLED

This instrument cancels an old aviation safety rule that applied to Maule M-4 series aeroplanes (light aircraft).

What the old rule required: The original directive (issued in 1978) forced owners to inspect and modify the engine mount on these specific planes to prevent dangerous cracking. Aircraft had to comply within 100 hours of flying time after 31 October 1978.

What this instrument does: It formally removes that requirement because the deadline passed over 30 years ago. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) states that all affected aircraft would have been modified by now, making the rule unnecessary.

Who is affected: Owners and operators of Maule M-4 series aircraft are no longer subject to this specific maintenance requirement, effective 12 February 2009.
