Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This is a safety rule for Aero Resources J2 gyroplanes (a type of small rotorcraft). It requires owners to install a low-speed warning alarm that beeps when the aircraft slows to between 38 and 43 knots (about 70–80 km/h) while flying.

What must be done:

Install an audible warning device that activates at low airspeed
Include a fuse or circuit breaker that the pilot can reach while flying
Get the installation scheme approved by the aviation authority (the Secretary)

When it applies: Before the aircraft can receive its Certificate of Airworthiness (the official document allowing it to fly legally).

Why it matters: Gyroplanes are vulnerable to losing lift at low speeds. This warning helps pilots avoid dangerous slow-flight conditions that could lead to accidents.

Note: Using specific Hawker de Havilland technical drawings (26-D-3 and 26-C-2) is an acceptable way to meet this requirement.
