Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document officially cancels an old aircraft safety rule (Airworthiness Directive MCH/4) originally created in 1974. The old rule required certain gyroplanes to install "no smoking" signs (called placards) before they could receive an airworthiness certificate (official approval to fly).

What this means:

For aircraft owners: You no longer need to comply with this specific 1974 directive about smoking placards.
Why it's cancelled: The safety requirements are now covered by current aviation laws, making this old rule redundant.
Important: Smoking is still restricted on aircraft under other regulations—only this specific technical requirement has been removed.
