Operators of Consolidated Aeronautics Model 250 (Colonial and LA-4 series, S/N 2–43) must inspect or replace engine mount tie rod ends per REVO Inc Service Bulletin B-69. Compliance is required within 100 flight hours after 31 July 1987 or before the next Maintenance Release thereafter. This prevents possible tie-rod failure that could allow engine movement or detachment, risking catastrophic loss of control.

AD/LA-4/22 Engine Mount Tie Rod Ends 8/87

Applicability: All model 250 with S/Nos 2 to 43. Requirement: Action in accordance with REVO Inc SB B-69.

Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 31 July 1987 or prior to the issue of the next Maintenance Release after 31 July 1987 whichever is later.

Background: In service experience has found that in some unusual circumstances there is a possibility of exceeding the allowable loads of the current rod ends.
