AD/L.40/3 - Fire Resistant Flexible Fuel and Oil Lines in Engine Compartment - Modification - CANCELLED

What this does: This document officially cancels (retires) a previous aircraft safety rule — Airworthiness Directive AD/L.40/3 — that applied to Meta Sokol L.40 series aeroplanes.

What the old rule required: The directive previously mandated a one-time replacement of flexible fuel and oil hoses located in the engine compartment with fire-resistant versions. This had to be done before September 1971. Notably, this was a unique Australian requirement, not based on the manufacturer's own service bulletins.

What happens now: As of 27 August 2009, owners, operators, and maintenance providers no longer need to comply with this specific directive. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has removed the requirement because it is no longer considered necessary for safety.
