What this does: This is a mandatory aviation safety directive (called an Airworthiness Directive) that requires aircraft owners or operators to remove the oil filler drain tubes from specific Pratt & Whitney Canada aircraft engines.

Who it affects: Anyone responsible for aircraft powered by JT15D-1 engines with serial numbers earlier than PC-E76157, with two exceptions (engines PC-E76154 and PC-E76155 are excluded from this requirement).

What you must do: Follow the technical instructions in one of three specified documents—either United Aircraft Service Bulletin No. 319 (Revision 1), Service Bulletin No. 7035, or the previous Airworthiness Directive AD/UAC-T/17—to remove these drain tubes.

Why it matters: Airworthiness Directives are legally enforceable safety rules. If you don't comply with this requirement, your aircraft is considered unsafe to fly under Australian aviation law and cannot legally operate.
