Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of certain Kawasaki BK117 helicopter models (those without Kawasaki Service Bulletin KSB-117-121 incorporated) to carry out inspections and any corrective action set out in Kawasaki Service Bulletin KSB-117-120A. It applies immediately to helicopters that have accumulated more than 1,200 hours and otherwise follows the Service Bulletin's compliance schedule. The Directive aims to prevent failure of the engine-mount sidewards link from excessive wear; Amendment 2 only adds a note that KSB-117-121 is terminating action and does not change requirements or timing.
