Plain English Summary

This Airworthiness Directive orders operators of Kawasaki BK117 variants to inspect the vertical fin skin thickness because some fins were built with 0.6 mm sheeting instead of the specified 0.8 mm. The AD requires action in accordance with Kawasaki Service Bulletin KSB-117-215 and must be carried out within 100 flight hours after 17 September 2003. Operators bear the cost and must follow the manufacturer’s inspection instructions; the CASA delegate issued the mandatory requirement under CASR authority.
