Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of BK117 B1/B2 helicopters with specified LTS101-750B-1 engines (including engines marked with suffix “B”) or particular FCU part numbers to fit a protective cap on a pressure‑ratio switch, add cockpit placards, and amend the flight‑manual limitations. It changes equipment and operating limits to address a one‑engine‑inoperative performance concern.

CASA’s delegate issues the requirement; operators pay for parts, placards and manual changes and must restrict Heater/ECS use until the cap is installed. Compliance follows Kawasaki service bulletin and a referenced JCAB AD.
