Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires regular servicing of mechanical fatigue meters made by Mechanisms Ltd. (including Negretti & Zambra) installed on aircraft to keep load-recording accurate. Single-spring units need calibration every 6 months and overhaul every 2 years; dual-spring units need calibration every 12 months and overhaul every 4 years. Work must be done by a CASA‑approved maintenance organisation to Secretary‑approved standards. It preserves accurate fatigue monitoring to reduce the risk of undetected structural failure.
