Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This mandatory Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of IAI Westwind models 1124 and 1124A to inspect the horizontal stabiliser rear spar splice fitting (P/N 453005-501) because cracks have been found that could cause tail structural failure and loss of control. Inspections must follow IAI Service Bulletins 1124-55-020 Rev 2 and 1124-55-021 Rev 3, first within 75 flight hours after 25 Jan 1989 (unless recently done) and thereafter every 300 flight hours.
