Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive requires operators of McDonnell Douglas (Hughes) and Kawasaki 369 series helicopters to inspect and repair the particle separator filter bypass door latch per the manufacturer's service notices (HN-213, DN-152, EN-41, or FN-30). A fractured latch can fall into the plenum and be ingested, risking engine damage or failure.

Work must be done by the next annual inspection after April 30, 1988, or the next time the door is removed.
