Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This CASA Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of McDonnell Douglas (Hughes) and Kawasaki 369 series helicopters fitted with tail rotor bellcrank parts 369D27514 or 369D27515 to inspect the clevis “ear” thickness per manufacturer Service Information Notices (DN137/EN25/FN13).

Inspections must be done within 100 flight hours or 3 months after 28 Feb 1986 for installed parts, and any spares must be checked before installation — to prevent ear failure and loss of tail-rotor control.
